The Constitution is made up of 3 parts:  the preamble, the articles, and the amendments.

This activity will give us a chance to explore the US Constitution by examining each article and amendment and determining its impact on the federal system and our rights as citizens. 

Follow the directions below to produce a study of your understanding of the Constitution.

The Preamble--Answer the following questions about the Preamble to the US Constitution.

• How does the Preamble establish popular sovereignty?  Explain.

• List the duties and responsibilities of government found in the Preamble.

• Some have called the Preamble "America's Thesis Statement".  What is a thesis statement, and how does the Preamble live up to that definition?
